🌄 Waking Up

Bismillāh
In the name of Allah — say this before starting wudu. The Prophet ﷺ said there is no wudu for the one who does not mention Allah's name.
✅ After Wudu

🌅 Before Eating
Bismillāh
In the name of Allah — say this before every meal. Eat with your right hand. The Prophet ﷺ said if you forget to say it at the start, say: Bismillāhi awwalahu wa ākhirah. — Bukhari
🍽️ After Eating
Alḥamdulillāhil-ladhī aṭʿamanā wa saqānā wa jaʿalanā muslimīn
Praise be to Allah who fed us, gave us drink, and made us Muslims. — Abu Dawud (Sahih)
🚪 Leaving Home
Bismillāhi tawakkaltu ʿalallāh, wa lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh
In the name of Allah, I trust in Allah, there is no power except with Allah. — Tirmidhi (Sahih). The angels protect you when you say this.
🏠 Entering Home
Bismillāhi walajanā wa bismillāhi kharajnā wa ʿalallāhi rabbanā tawakkalnā
In the name of Allah we enter, in the name of Allah we leave, and upon Allah our Lord we rely. — Abu Dawud
🚗 Entering a Vehicle
Subḥānal-ladhī sakhkhara lanā hādhā wa mā kunnā lahu muqrinīn, wa innā ilā rabbinā lamunqalibūn
Glory be to Him who made this vehicle for us — we could not have done it ourselves — and to our Lord we will return. — Muslim
🌙 Before Sleeping
Bismika Allāhumma amūtu wa aḥyā
In Your name O Allah I die and I live. — Bukhari. Also recite Ayatul Kursi before sleeping — the Prophet ﷺ said it protects you all night.
🤲 When Worried or Anxious
Ḥasbiyallāhu lā ilāha illā huwa ʿalayhi tawakkaltu wa huwa rabbul ʿarshil ʿaẓīm
Allah is enough for me. There is no god but He. In Him I trust, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne. — Quran 9:129. Say this 7 times morning and evening.
🤲 When in Difficulty
Lā ilāha illā anta subḥānaka innī kuntu minaẓ-ẓālimīn
There is no god but You, glory be to You, indeed I was among the wrongdoers. — This is the dua of Prophet Yunus ﷺ from inside the whale. Allah responded and saved him.
📚 Before Studying
Rabbi zidnī ʿilmā
My Lord, increase me in knowledge. — Quran 20:114. Say this before every class, before reading, before learning anything new.
🌧️ When It Rains
Allāhumma ṣayyiban nāfiʿā
O Allah, make it a beneficial rain. — Bukhari. This is what the Prophet ﷺ said when it rained.
🪞 Looking in the Mirror
Allāhumma anta ḥassanta khalqī fa-ḥassin khuluqī
O Allah, just as You made my appearance good, make my character good. — Ahmad (Sahih). A reminder that inner beauty matters more than outer beauty.
Good manners are a big part of Islam. The Prophet ﷺ said: "The best among you are those with the best manners."
👋 Greeting
As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāh
Always greet Muslims with Salaam — it means "Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah." The Prophet ﷺ said spreading Salaam spreads love between Muslims.
🍽️ Eating Manners
• Eat with your right hand
• Say Bismillah before eating
• Eat what is in front of you
• Do not blow on hot food
• Say Alhamdulillah when finished
• Never waste food — the Prophet ﷺ said wasting is forbidden
👴 Respecting Elders
The Prophet ﷺ said: "He is not one of us who does not respect the elderly." Always greet elders first, let them speak, give them your seat, and never raise your voice at them — especially your parents.
📋 Keeping Promises
The Prophet ﷺ said the signs of a hypocrite are three: when he speaks he lies, when he promises he breaks it, when trusted he betrays. A Muslim always keeps their word — even with children.
🐾 Kindness to Animals
The Prophet ﷺ said a woman entered Hellfire because she locked up a cat without feeding it. And a sinful man was forgiven because he gave water to a thirsty dog. Islam teaches us to be kind to all of Allah's creatures.
💧 Not Wasting Water
The Prophet ﷺ said do not waste water even if you are by a flowing river. Use only what you need for wudu and washing. Wasting water is disliked in Islam even when water is plentiful.
🗣️ Watching Your Words
The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak good or remain silent." Never lie, backbite, gossip, or mock others. Words can hurt more than actions — use them kindly.
✨ Smiling
Tabassumukat fī wajhi akhīka ṣadaqah
The Prophet ﷺ said: "Your smile in the face of your brother is charity." Smiling costs nothing but means everything. It is one of the easiest forms of sadaqah.
🏠 Entering a Home
Always knock or ring the bell and wait. Greet with Salaam before entering. Do not enter without permission even if the door is open. If no one answers after three tries, go away — this is the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ.
📱 Using Your Time Well
The Prophet ﷺ said: "Two blessings which many people waste — health and free time." Islam encourages us to use time wisely. Read Quran, help at home, learn something new, be kind. Every good deed is recorded.

Witr Prayer
Hanafi: Witr is Wajib (obligatory) — 3 rakats prayed together after Isha, always with qunut dua in the third rakat.
Shafi'i / Maliki / Hanbali: Witr is Sunnah Muakkadah — can be 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, or 11 rakats. 1 rakat alone is valid.
📿 Special Prayers
🕌
Jumu'ah — Friday Prayer
Every Friday at Dhuhr time, Muslim men are obligated to attend the Friday prayer at the masjid. It consists of 2 fard rakats after the khutbah (sermon). It replaces Dhuhr for men. Allah says in the Quran: "When the call to prayer on Friday is made, hasten to the remembrance of Allah." (62:9)
🎉
Eid Prayer — Twice a Year
Eid al-Fitr after Ramadan and Eid al-Adha during Hajj season. The Eid prayer is 2 rakats with extra takbeers (saying Allahu Akbar). It is prayed in the morning, ideally outdoors or in a large hall. It is a time of joy, gratitude, and community.
🌙
Tahajjud — Night Prayer
Prayed in the last third of the night after sleeping. Minimum 2 rakats, no maximum. The Prophet ﷺ said it is the best prayer after the obligatory prayers. Allah descends to the lowest heaven in the last third of night and asks: "Who is calling Me that I may answer them?"
🌅
Duha — Morning Prayer
Prayed after sunrise (approximately 20 minutes after) until before midday. Minimum 2 rakats, maximum 12 rakats. The Prophet ﷺ said every joint in your body owes charity daily — 2 rakats of Duha covers all of that charity.
⚠️ This is a general guide. Always follow your local imam and scholar for rulings specific to your madhab.
